Are you familiar with logic mazes? Robert Abbott was a computer programmer, a game designer, and the inventor of logic mazes. Theseus and the Minotaur is one of his most popular mazes. I was introduced to his work through GAMES magazine years ago, and I have some of his books. I’ve used his mazes with students for years, too!
Although he passed in February 2018, his work is still used and loved! These types of mazes are addicting! They are not your typical mazes! In every maze, there are changing variables, so solving them requires a great deal of logical thinking! You might have seen one of his mazes at a festival or event, too!
Do you want something engaging and challenging for your students? Try a logic maze! My students always love them and ask for more! I usually start with ‘Eyeball Maze’, but you will love all of them!
Visit his site to see many of his logic mazes!
Should these be a part of your math class? Absolutely! Brain research shows these types of activities build critical thinking skills, which will help students in ALL areas!
What do you think? I would love to hear about your experiences with logic mazes!
